Le Vice-Premier Ministre italien, Matteo Salvini, a présenté la situation politique italienne selon les termes suivants :
"J'espère que personne ne pense à un gouvernement 5 étoiles/PD qui serait inacceptable pour la démocratie."
"A partir de maintenant, la seule option est les élections."
"Les parlementaires doivent se bouger et retourner au Parlement pour un vote de défiance."
Plus tôt dans la journée, le quotidien italien Corriere della Sera a annoncé que Salvini avait l'intention de tenir les élections le 13 Octobre.
Malgré les turbulences politiques en Italie, la monnaie commune reste relativement forte face à ses rivaux. Au moment d'écrire ces lignes, la paire EUR/USD était en hausse de 0,25% sur la journée à 1,1205.
